RECAP: 2024 RAISE THE RIVER FESTIVAL: The Pulse Flow: Ten Years Later

It’s not too late to view the 2024 Raise the River Festival! We are thrilled to share the wisdom, beauty, and stories that our team members and partners in success shared during our November 13 virtual event. Watch the recording at your convenience, or re-listen to the parts of the conversation that inspired you.

Virtual Festival

Powerful in its impact, the 2024 Festival conversations feature our coalition member organizations together with important partners in our efforts demonstrating how teamwork is bringing water and life back to the Colorado River Delta.

The Festival features two sessions: the first is entitled “The Pulse Flow, 10 Years Later. We look back as history was made ten years ago when the 2014 ‘Pulse Flow’ of water was released into the Colorado River Delta. We discuss the agreements and logistics that made it possible and its subsequent impacts, through the voices of those who were there – and who have continued to be involved in Delta restoration work.
Our second discussion focuses on the importance of “Binational Cooperation”,  featuring key representatives from the United States and Mexico federal and state governments sharing their behind-the-scenes perspectives and offering encouragement for the Alliance’s continued efforts. This session also features audience questions to the Commissioners.

The Pulse Flow: Ten years Later

Ten years following the 2014 ‘pulse flow’ of water released into the Colorado River Delta, we look back at the binational cooperation that made this possible, the changes evident in the landscape and biodiversity, and the impact on the communities in the region — as told by those who were a part of this historic event.

2024 Year in Review

A look at the activities and events that the Raise the River participated in between December 2023 and November 2024. Not only do our organizations work to restore the landscape of the Colorado River Delta, but they actively engage with the local community members in San Luis Rio Colorado and the Mexicali Valley in Northern Baja California, Mexico.

On-site event

Raise the River hosted an event on October 25, in our Miguel Aleman restoration site. It was a wonderful event where we remembered the HistoriWe had panels, artistic activities and more than 140 participants.
