Raise the River Festival 2026
In-Person Event
Next Wednesday, October 14, we’ll gather at Laguna Grande, the largest riparian forest of the Colorado River in Mexico, in the Mexicali Valley. At the “El río nos une” Festival, we’ll share site tours, a panel with special guests, and the company of Cupari, our mascot, with the community, students, farming families, and partner organizations from both sides of the border. Space is limited and requires prior registration.
Check the program, tours, and registration details in the festival brief (available soon).
Virtual Festival
Last January, our virtual edition brought together water management, philanthropy, and cooperation specialists from Mexico and the United States, who agreed that environmental water is the cornerstone of water resilience for the whole region. We talked about how the Colorado River Delta went from being considered a lost ecosystem to becoming a restoration benchmark, and spoke with the Human Footprint (PBS) team about the power of telling its story. We’ll meet online again in early 2027: stay tuned.
The Pulse Flow: Ten years Later
Ten years following the 2014 ‘pulse flow’ of water released into the Colorado River Delta, we look back at the binational cooperation that made this possible, the changes evident in the landscape and biodiversity, and the impact on the communities in the region — as told by those who were a part of this historic event.
2024 Year in Review
A look at the activities and events that the Raise the River participated in between December 2023 and November 2024. Not only do our organizations work to restore the landscape of the Colorado River Delta, but they actively engage with the local community members in San Luis Rio Colorado and the Mexicali Valley in Northern Baja California, Mexico.
